Transit Hubs
Transit Hubs are located at key destinations where interchange may take place and higher levels of passenger facilities and information are required. Four locations have been identified as warranting development of Transit Hub facilities:
- Noosa Parade - Access to Hastings Street and Main Beach
- Tewantin - Focal point for services linking the Noosa Hinterland and the coastal suburbs
- Noosa Civic - A major mixed land use activity centre
- Cooroy - Focal point for services from hinterland towns and with interchange to passenger rail.
Passenger facilities at the Transit Hubs may include amongst others, higher quality and higher capacity bus shelters and higher levels of information provision.
It is anticipated that the Cooroy Transit Hub will be treated independently in recognition of its position as a principal transit facility for the Noosa Hinterland.
